  • Bedrooms: The cabin features two well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a comfortable king-sized bed, while the second bedroom offers flexibility with either two single beds or a super king configuration, catering to various guest preferences.

  • Tennis Court: Challenge your companions to a fun match on our tennis court, set against the stunning backdrop of the Teme Valley.

  • Woodland Walk: Explore the private woodland trail, featuring a wildlife hide overlooking serene ponds and an active badger sett, offering a unique nature experience right at your doorstep.

  • Meet the Animals: The family farm has a selection of animals you can meet. See the geese and ducks splash on the pond, pat the shetland ponies and watch the chickens scratch and cluck. Feeding experiences and egg collecting can be arranged on request.

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors. 

Introduction

Hop Pickers Cabin is a luxury log cabin which is located in the grounds of Pigeon House Farm, at the end of a rural No Through Road. Approximately 6 miles between Worcester and Great Malvern.  The owners live on site in the old farmhouse.  There are three additional self-catering units, one which sleeps up to 5 guests and shares the outdoor facilities available, also a Shepherd's hut just for 2 guests and a bell tent which sleeps 2 guests.

The Cabin sleeps up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, all accommodation is on one level. Built in mid 2014 it is officially graded by Visit England as 4 star with the Gold Award.  It is nestled in a quiet corner of the old orchard surrounded by spacious gardens.

Pre Arrival

For full details and maps of how to reach us please see the location plan on the website.  The postcode is WR6 5JX, final directions will be sent with your booking confirmation.

The nearest railway station is Malvern Link which is 6 miles away, you can check train times with live updates via Trainline.  Taxis are available at this station, if you require an accessible taxi this can be booked through Access Taxis Phone: 07749621594. There is only 1 bus per day from the end of Dingle Road.

The final 300 yards of your journey are on an unsurfaced farm track before entering the main gravel driveway of Pigeon House Farm.

Key collection, Welcome and Car Parking

The cabin is available from 4pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure (unless otherwise agreed)

Please advise your approximate arrival time to ensure that you will be greeted and shown around the property.

The cabin has its own gated flat gravel parking area which will take up to 4 cars.  There is external lighting on a motion sensor.

Entrance to The Cabin

Access into the Cabin is up a ramp with a handrail.  The door is 83 cm wide.

The half glazed door is hinged on the right and opens outwards with a steel hook to hold it open if necessary. There is a small step from the ramp into the cabin. The door leads into an open plan kitchen/lounge/diner which is all on one level, all the lights can be controlled from inside this door.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a fully fitted Charles Rennie Mackintosh which has sage green oak fronted units with steel knob handles and slate grey laminate worktops at a height of 90cm. The Franke sink has 1 full size bowl with pull out mixer tap. Neff Double electric oven and Neff 4 gas ring hob. Neff fully integrated dishwasher and integrated fridge.  There is a small freezer in a cupboard above the fridge. There is also a separate chest freezer located in the shed opposite the cabin. (Shed approx. 25m from cabin)

The floor is covered with a cushioned flagstone effect laminate.

The units are all lit with directional low energy spotlights (these can time out if they are left on for a long time they will turn on again if left).

Appliances include a matching Russell Hobbs heritage cream kettle, toaster, cafetiere and microwave.

Lounge/Dining area

The pine floorboards are sealed with a Teflon coating and are covered by cream coloured short pile carpet, a red patterned short pile rug lies on top of the carpet defining the 2 areas.

The dining area has a large pine table height 75cm to seat 4/6 with 4 chairs with padded seats and arms.  There are 2 wooden folding chairs next to the dresser and additional chairs are available on request. There is a central lamp over the table and ceiling lights. There is a Denon CD/Radio sound system with remote control.  Heating is provided from an electric convector heater with a timer and thermostatic controls.  There is a set of shelves with a variety of books and games and extensive local tourist information, the cabin appliance guides and welcome folder.

The lounge area has 2 x 2 seater leather sofas plus a large beanbag which can be provided on request. A small nest of tables and a 40” Smart TV with Freeview, remote control and DVD player.  A hotel system WI-Fi network is provided.

Low energy GU10 spotlights are on 2 circuits.

There is a Scandinavian Log Burner in the lounge area which sits on a granite slab.  Matching full length quality lined curtains cover the 2 French double doors which have a width of 145cm, 1 leads on to the decking veranda and 1 leads on to the outdoor seating area. The other windows have blinds.

Bedrooms

The 2 bedrooms lead off the kitchen, both with pine doors with steel handles, they are 68cm wide.  Both have electric wall mounted convector heaters.

Both bedrooms are carpeted with a short pile fully fitted cream carpet and both have a central pendant light.  Both bedrooms have French doors facing the gardens with full length interlined curtains.

Bedding and pillows are non-feather hypo-allergenic

Bedroom 1 has a King size bed which is 66cm high, there are 2 matching bedside tables with matching bedside lamps and a pine wardrobe with a mirrored front and a large drawer. There is a vanity table next to the wardrobe with a double-sided mirror.

Bedroom 2 has 2 full size 3’ single beds which may also be zipped up to a superking, the height is 59cm.  There is a bedside drawer unit with 1 bedside lamp and a small hanging wardrobe with a mirrored door.

Shower room

Pine door with steel handle and key lock (key currently removed and bolt provided on inside of door)  door width 68cm.

Large corner unit shower with Electric Mira sports shower and separate non-slip mat provided.

Vanity unit with inset basin and mirrored double cabinet plus shaver socket, unit height 84cm.

WC with button release and soft close seat, height 43cm.

Electric radiator towel rail with timer and thermostat control, the floor covering is nonslip vinyl.

2 ceiling lights and extractor fan

Utility Room Shed

Approximately 25m from the cabin is a shed which contains a washing machine, dryer, chest freezer and an ironing station.  There is a cushioned vinyl floor and space for any additional storage.

Outside the shed are 2 rotary clothes airers.

Outside

A paved path surrounds the cabin, the decking veranda has a hot tub set into the decking with 2 plastic steps up for easy access. There is a gas barbeque.  The cabin opens out on to approx. 1 acre of back lawn with a mix of Worcestershire fruit trees.

There are footpaths directly from the property.

Leisure facilities

Shared with 3 self-catering units, on which sleeps 5 and a Shepherd's Hut which sleeps 2, a seasonal bell tent for 2 and the owner’s family, there is a tennis court with small hut. The court does need resurfacing so is not ideal for serious tennis players but great for a fun game.

An outdoor heated swimming pool is in operation from the end of May to early September, this is unfenced.  Depth 1.5m

Trampoline (no safety net)  next to the swimming pool.

‘The Cowshed’ is our large games room which has a large log burner, table tennis, darts, bar billiards, retro pinball machine, scalextric, and 50 inch smart TV. This is accessed over the stable yard and is down 3 steps, the door width is 70cm. There is also a small kitchenette and shower room which is used mainly by bell tent guests.

The cabin is set in 8 acres of grounds with a woodland walk and a wildlife hide.  There are 3 unfenced ponds in the grounds which are all a few minutes walk from the cabin.

The cabin is a non-smoking property

Well behaved dogs are welcome, enclosed garden with 4ft post, stock netting and wooden gates.

There is a fire extinguisher, smoke alarm, fire blanket and carbon monoxide alarm
